Feature Spotlight

Fast. Simple. Contextual.

For a single UI string, a short email, or a quick ad copy check — Quick Translate runs the same context layer as a full project, without the project setup. Select a client profile, paste your text, and translate.

What is Quick Translate?

Quick Translate is the ad-hoc interface for single strings, short copy, and one-off translations — no project setup required. It applies your selected client profile, Glossary, and Translation Memory to every request automatically. When you approve a corrected translation, it feeds back into the Translation Memory so future requests benefit from that correction.

How Quick Translate works.

Quick Translate sits inside the Flixu workspace alongside the full project workflow. The interface is a text input — paste your source text, select a target language and an optional client profile, and translate. There's no file upload, no project creation, no configuration before you start.

What makes it different from a consumer translation tool is what happens before the translation runs. If you've selected a client profile, the Glossary and Translation Memory associated with that client are loaded for the request. The Brand Voice configuration applies. The same analysis that runs on a full project document runs on a three-word UI string.

If you translate without a client profile, the request runs on the foundational model — still context-aware through the pre-translation analysis, but without client-specific terminology or brand voice constraints.

After translation, if you edit and approve the output, the correction is fed back into the selected client's Translation Memory through the Post-Edit Learning Loop. That approved phrasing becomes a style reference for future requests — in Quick Translate and in full project workflows.

What Quick Translate includes.

No setup required

Paste text, select a language, translate. For one-off copy checks, customer support responses, or quick string reviews, you don't need to create a project. The interface is designed for the translation that takes 30 seconds, not 30 minutes.

Client profile applies automatically

Select a client and the correct Glossary, Brand Voice, and Translation Memory load for the request. The same client-specific constraints that govern a full project apply to a single string in Quick Translate — including terminology enforcement and formality settings.

Brand voice testing

Quick Translate is a useful tool for testing Brand Voice configurations before applying them to a large document. Translate the same sentence with two different brand voice settings and compare the outputs side by side. Adjust the configuration and test again — without running a full project.

Corrections feed back into Translation Memory

If you edit the translation output and approve it, that correction is saved to the client's Translation Memory via the Post-Edit Learning Loop. A phrasing you approve in Quick Translate is available as a style reference in every subsequent translation for that client — quick requests and full projects alike.

When Quick Translate fits the workflow.

Freelancers handling ad-hoc client requests

A freelance translator handling a mix of project-based work and one-off client requests benefits from a tool that applies client-specific context without requiring full project setup for every short task. Quick Translate provides access to the client's Glossary and Translation Memory for a single string — the same quality constraints, without the overhead.

Support and customer-facing teams

Customer support agents translating individual responses, or social media managers checking copy for a specific market, need fast access to brand-consistent translation without logging into a project workflow. Quick Translate gives them a browser-based interface — paste, translate, copy — with the brand voice and glossary automatically applied if their workspace is configured.

Developers testing localization strings

Before adding a new UI string to a full localization project, a developer can test how it translates across target languages using Quick Translate. The same glossary enforcement that applies to the production pipeline applies here — so the test output accurately reflects what the automated pipeline will produce.

Frequently Asked Questions

How is Quick Translate different from Google Translate or DeepL?

+

Consumer translation tools don't know your client's approved terminology, brand voice, or translation history. Quick Translate applies your selected client profile — Glossary, Brand Voice, Translation Memory — to every request automatically. The output is brand-consistent and terminology-compliant, not generic MT output. And corrections you approve feed back into the client's Translation Memory for future requests.

Do Quick Translate results get saved to the Translation Memory?

+

Yes, but only when you edit and approve the output. If you accept the translation without modification, the session doesn't automatically update the TM. If you correct the output and approve the revised version, that correction is saved to the client's Translation Memory and becomes a style reference for future translations.

Can I use Quick Translate without assigning a client profile?

+

Yes. Without a client profile, Quick Translate runs the pre-translation context analysis — domain detection, formality calibration — but without client-specific Glossary or Brand Voice constraints. The output is context-aware but not brand-constrained. For one-off personal translations or when no client context is relevant, that's the appropriate setting.

How does Quick Translate differ from the full project workflow?

+

Quick Translate is designed for single strings and short-form text without a structured review cycle. Full projects support multiple files, segment-by-segment LQA scoring, the review queue, auto-approval workflows, and activity tracking across a team. For content that needs documented review or involves structured file formats, the project workflow is the appropriate path. Quick Translate is for the translation that needs to happen in under a minute.

Is there a text length limit for Quick Translate?

+

Quick Translate is optimized for short-form text — single strings, short paragraphs, brief emails. For longer content or structured file formats (DOCX, XLIFF, JSON), the project workflow handles parsing, format preservation, and the full review pipeline. Check your current plan for specific character limits.

Does Quick Translate support all languages that Flixu covers?

+

Yes. Quick Translate uses the same language support as the full project workflow — all 22+ supported languages are available. Select the target language from the same language menu used in project settings.

Translate intelligently. No setup.

Paste a string, select a language, and see your Brand Voice and Glossary applied — even for a three-word UI label.
